Make A Great First Impression

Making a great first impression is imperative to becoming a respected, admired and influential leader.

As a business leader, you already know the basics of leaving a polished first impression, like dressing well, making eye contact, smiling and having a firm handshake.  If you really want to be memorable (for the right reasons), you need to think about how you look, what you say and how you say it. The secret to not being forgotten is to be known for some special or unique characteristic that no one else can replicate.

The fact is that when you first meet a person, they make a judgment about you in approximately 7 seconds and within 3 seconds of meeting you online.

Everything contributing to the way you look on the outside is important. If it’s not helping you, it’s hurting you. While you cannot control your physical features, you have total control over your appearance, your conduct and your behaviour.

If you want to make a good impression the first time round, you must make sure you present yourself with confidence, poise and sincerity.  Take time to research potential clients or employers, and be clear how your services can be invaluable to them.

Competition in the world of business is intense and making a good first impression is vital.  Your first impression  can be the difference between impressing clients and winning sales and contracts, or being left out in the cold. Improving your personal brand and company image is a simple way to enhance a potential employer, colleague, or client’s first opinion of you. It can reinforce your reliability and competence in your field; encourage a little faith in your business and abilities, and you will go far.

In summary, it’s the small touches that will set you apart and make you remembered for that next big sale or exciting new opportunity.
